What started as a one-time journey grew into a life where I now spend eight months a year living in India immersed in the rhythm of daily life, touched by the unexpected, and embraced by people who now feel like family.

Madhya Pradesh is our next destination and will be offered from 2025, because we still have to discover the special places ourselves. What sets us apart? Step into my world
Step into my world and let me take you to The Heart of India, where life vibrates and every encounter tells a story. I am Nicole, the driving force behind Heart of India Travel, born from my deep love for India and its enchanting diversity. In 2019, during a 2,5 month solo trip through India, my passion for this country was awakened. India was not on my bucket list, but it became the destination that stole my heart. Despite prejudices about hygiene and safety, I discovered the authentic beauty, the warm people, and the delicious food. Back in the Netherlands, my desire to do more for the people there grew. My search for volunteer work led me to Marian Dekkers, and in 2022 I left for India again. Covid brought challenges, but as soon as the borders opened, I resumed my journey of discovery, from Gujarat to Rajasthan and Punjab.
Radical decision
In 2023, I made a radical decision – selling my apartment, quitting my job, and embarking on an adventure. As an independent traveler and founder of Heart of India Travel, I am now ready for a new chapter. Leaving in September 2023, I am now exploring Rajasthan and letting the need of the moment guide me. No rigid plans, just freedom. My annual stay in India during winter time will allow me to delve deeper into its hidden treasures, so that I can design the most enchanting journeys for you.
