October 26, day 1 Depart from your home airport – Delhi airport

Today you start your adventure with (often an evening) flight from your home airport to Delhi, the vibrant capital of India.

October 27, day 2 Arrival at Delhi airport

Upon arrival at the airport you will be met by one of our English speaking drivers, who will take you to your charming 3 star guesthouse for a short rest.

Meet Ashraful, our professional photographer, who will travel with you over the next 2 weeks and teach you all the ins and outs of Indian street and portrait photography.

During the first photo session, there is a meeting with the group on the day of arrival in which Indian customs regarding portrait and street photography are explained. Take into account cultural differences, and there may be people who are hesitant to have portraits done, so this is also discussed.

In the afternoon, evening explore Old Delhi and Asia’s largest wholesale spice market called Khari Baoli. Recognize the narrow alleys of Delhi and Chandni Chowk.

October 28, day 3 Delhi – Jaipur 250 km – 4 hours drive

After breakfast we drive to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, with its beautiful sights and vibrant old city. The city is known as the pink city because of its many pink buildings. Since 2019, the city has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

In the morning we arrive in Jaipur and spend the night in a 3 star hotel.

Upon arrival in Jaipur, explore the iconic Hawa Mahal and Amber Fort and capture the grandeur of Rajput architecture.

In the afternoon, stroll through the colorful bazaars of Johari and Bapu, perfect for street photography.

In the evening, attend the light and sound show at Amer Fort for enchanting night shots.

October 29, day 4 Jaipur – Pushkar – camel fair 150 km – 2 hours drive

Breakfast at the hotel.

This morning we drive to Pushkar, considered a holy city by Hindus and an important pilgrimage site, where the famous camel market will take place in the coming days.

We arrive in Pushkar in the morning and you check in at an attractive 3-star hotel.

Afternoon Dive into the vibrant chaos of Pushkar Camel Fair, document the unique cultural experiences. Learn about people and their stories. Towards the end of the afternoon we head to the lake to capture the sunset.

In the evening we attend the traditional folk performances and capture the magical atmosphere of the fair at dusk.

October 30, day 5 Pushkar

Catch the sunrise early in the morning at the fairgrounds and capture life awakening in the dunes.

In the afternoon you will visit an NGO that Heart of India Travel is happy to support. Brett will be happy to tell you more about his projects and introduce you to the locals and you will spend some time with the children.

October 31, day 6 Pushkar

You will wake up early today and catch the sunrise over Pushkar Lake. After that you will take a morning walk. Breakfast at the hotel.

In the afternoon, dive back into the vibrant chaos of the Pushkar Camel Fair, documenting the unique cultural experiences. Learn about the people and their stories.

Photography reviews, take this opportunity to share your work and ask for feedback.

In the afternoon and evening you will return to the Pushkar Camel Fair where you will capture the people and take sunset shots.

November 1, day 7 Pushkar – Jojawar 175 km – 2,5 hours drive

This morning we have a last walk at the fair grounds before driving towards Jojawar, an undiscovered gem of Rajasthan.

Breakfast at the hotel before heading to Jojawar.

The area around Jojawar has very interesting landscapes, with the picturesque Aravalli Hills in the east and broken rocky hills dotted with farms and scrub, making it an interesting place for photographers.

Arrive in the afternoon at the 3-star heritage hotel with swimming pool.

In the afternoon we take a walk through the village, a great way to experience life here as it unfolds before your eyes.

Late in the afternoon we go on safari and capture the beautiful sunset and surroundings.

November 2, day 8 Jojawar

Early in the morning we take a village walk, a great place for portraits and street photography.

Breakfast at the hotel.

In the afternoon we take a safari that takes us to the camel-driving Rabari ethnic group. We get the chance to see their settlements, through farms, through beautiful little hamlets where time seems to stand still. We have plenty of time to learn more about the people and take portrait photos.

November 3, day 9 Jojawar – Jodhpur 130 km – 2 hours drive

After breakfast we will take you to the city of Jodhpur.

Jodhpur is known for its palaces, forts, temples and the surrounding desert landscape. The city is called “blue city” because of the indigo colored walls of the houses in the old city and “sunny city” because of the desert climate. The old town is completely surrounded by a city wall from the 16th century.

You will stay in a charming 3-star hotel.

In the afternoon and evening we explore the narrow alleys of the old blue town, capturing the essence of everyday life and the famous blue houses.

November 4, day 10 Jodhpur

Before sunrise we will go to Mehrangarh Fort for breathtaking panoramic views of the Blue City. Also explore the incredible architecture of the fort. Breakfast at the hotel.

In the afternoon, explore the iconic stepwell in Jodhpur called Toorji ka Jhalra. Then head to the Clocktower Market or locally called Sardar Market. Visit the vibrant Sardar Market and Jaswant Thada which is perfect to capture the vibrant colors of the city during the golden hour.

November 5, day 11 Jodhpur – Jaisalmer 285 km – 5,5 hours drive

Jaisalmer is known as the golden city because of its many yellow sandstone buildings, not least the structures that are part of the historic fortified city in the hill fort Fort Jaisalmer. You will stay here in a cozy 3 star hotel.

After breakfast we head towards Jaisalmer. Arrive at the hotel for a rest moment.

In the afternoon, wander through the narrow alleys of the old city and capture the unique blend of medieval and modern life. Explore Nathmal ki Haveli, a beautiful and intricate architecture.

Enjoy the sunset at Gadisar Lake.

November 6, day 12 Jaisalmer

In the morning, capture the sunrise over Jaisalmer’s Golden Fort, with its majestic architecture and panoramic views of the golden city. Or start your day by capturing the mesmerizing sunrise at Gadisar Lake. The tranquil atmosphere and the reflection of the sun on the water make for beautiful early morning shots.

In the afternoon, explore the maze and narrow alleys around the fort. We visit the Patwon-ki-Haveli, a famous and beautiful mansion in Jaisalmer.

In the afternoon we head to the sand dunes of the Thar Desert, capture the sunset and enjoy cultural performances.

November 7, day 13 Jaisalmer – Bikaner 390 km – 6 hours drive

This morning we leave very early for Bikaner, an often unjustly overlooked place in Rajasthan with remarkable sights. You stay in a charming 3 star hotel.

In the late morning we arrive in Bikaner and head to Kote Gate to explore the bustling market. Capture the vibrant street life, local vendors and the colorful array of products.

In the afternoon and evening we visit the Rampuria Haveli, nestled in the heart of the enchanting city of Bikaner, an architectural masterpiece that you must see. This iconic structure was commissioned by the prosperous and influential Rampuria family, who were prominent traders in Bikaner.

Stroll the streets for daily life and people photography. And if time permits, visit the Junagarh Fort and capture the beautiful architecture and details of this majestic structure. Explore the courtyards, palaces and balconies for unique perspectives.

November 8, day 14 Bikaner

Breakfast at the hotel, then proceed to visit Lalgarh Palace and Lalgarh Palace, which are characterized by a beautiful blend of Rajput, Mughal and European architectural styles. Capture the grandeur of the palace and its surroundings, especially the magnificent facade.

In the afternoon we visit the Karni Mata Temple (Rat Temple), famous for its resident rats. Capture the unique and somewhat peculiar aspects of this sacred place.

November 9, day 15 Bikaner – Navalgarh 225 km – 3,5 hours drive

Today after breakfast we will take you to a less visited part of Rajasthan, the Shekhawati region which is known for its extraordinary painted havelis. You will stay here in a 3 star heritage hotel.

In the afternoon we walk through the largely pedestrian friendly bazaar to capture some nice portraits and visit some beautiful havelis.

November 10, day 16 Navalgarh

Early in the morning we drive to Lohargal, a pilgrimage site with a temple dedicated to the sun god. A sacred pool attracts a significant crowd of pilgrims for their ritual baths. If we have enough time, we will also visit another pilgrimage site, Kiroriji, a few kilometers from Lohargal. This place has special significance for Shraddha rituals.

In the afternoon we visit the city of Fatehpur with more than 100 havelis, where a visit to the haveli of Nadine le Prince should not be missed.

November 11, day 17 Navalgarh – Delhi – return flight home 250 km – 3,5 hours drive

After breakfast we drive directly to Delhi airport for your return flight home (depending on the flight time you can also visit one of the sights in Delhi).

November 12, day 18 arrival at your home airport

Arrive at the airport of your home destination.
